It Is What It Is

Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional… That’s what they say, right? Pain will Always be there. Like an ever-present companion along for the ride. Keeping ourselves company in the labyrinth that we have created to protect ourselves. Why do we try so hard to convince everyone that we are okay? It seems crazy to me that we feel the need to put on a mask and act like there is nothing wrong. Why can’t we show that we are hurting, if we are? It is in our nature to feel. It shows that we are alive, and pain reminds us that it mattered in the first place.

So, feel it. Even if it is the worst thing imaginable. Even if every fiber of your being is screaming the opposite. Just feel it. It is worth it in the end. Follow your heart and not your head. It will lead you in the right direction. Your head has told you to preserve the peace you have lived in for so long. That history will inevitably repeat itself, and our ghosts will be there to haunt us. That doesn’t mean that its true though. Do not run from the lessons that taught you how to survive; it does no service to your world to let them rule you. Be aware or you might just miss out on the good stuff. The things that make life worth living. A smell that reminds you of a time that was so close to peace; You thought it was too good to be true.

There is no such thing. If it feels real for one side the opposite must be true, or at least was at one point. The things that happened were real whether owned by both sides or not. Don’t let the reservations of others make you feel like it was all a lie. Whether acknowledged or not, it happened. The words were spoken and the reality remains the same. It is what it is… And nothing more.
